Most wanted Boko Haram terrorist killed by Nigerian Army (photo)

The Nigerian army recorded an important victory in the fight against terrorism as a wanted Boko Haram leader was nabbed.



According to Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman who is the acting director of army public relations, the terrorist was nabbed on March 10 after troops of 7 multinational joint task force brigade Quick Response Group (QRG) stationed in Baga and 118 task force battalion staged an ambush along Daban Masara axis.

The route was a well-known path used by terrorists to convey logistics. The terrorist was one of the leaders of the insurgency group and whose serial number is 95 on the first Nigerian army wanted list of 100 Boko Haram terrorists leaders. He was mortally wounded during an exchange of fire between soldiers and the terrorists.

Other members of his team escaped with gunshot wound while the terrorist later died of gunshot wound while receiving treatment at the military base.

Recovered from the terrorist were 7 Jerri cans of 30 litres containing 210 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), motorcycles and food stuff. Firearms and ammunition were also recovered.

Meanwhile, contrary to the position held by the government that no region of the country is being controlled by Boko Haram, a top US general, David Rodriguez has claimed that some parts of the country are still under the control of the insurgency.
