Chelsea footballer, Mikel Obi, has been named the new captain of the Super Eagles as the team prepares for the crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification doubleheader against Egypt.
The announcement was made at the pre-match press briefing at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, bringing an end to the seven-month captainship of Ahmed Musa.
The clash with Egypt’s Pharaohs has been moved by one hour to 5:00 pm local time Friday.
