Late James Ocholi spoke about end-time before his death.
Fresh revelations have emerged on the last words of late Barrister James Ocholi, Nigeria’s minister of Labour and Productivity, who died alongside his wife and son in a fatal motor accident along Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Sunday, March 6.
The late minister’s shocking demise came as a result of a burst tyre which made his vehicle somersault a few times before skidding off the road, killing two occupants on the spot.
But, findings by The Guardian have it that minutes before he died, Ocholi had mounted the pulpit at the Restoration Bible Church, UngwarRomi, Kaduna state to warn the congregation of “the evils of end-time period.”
“We should all give this government under President Muhammadu Buhari the opportunity to turn the country around for better and also put the nation on development track,” the late Barrister was also quoted to have said.
During a visit to the late SAN’s home village, Udanebiomi in Ogbadebe District of Dekina local council, Kogi state, the people could not hide their feelings as they noted with disdain that there was probably a foul play in the death of the minister.
Pain and grief rent the air when The Guardian visited, everywhere was deserted and none of the pastors and leaders was anywhere to be found.
However, a church member who spoke on the condition of anonymity, informed that, “the church service had started before the minister and his family members came into the church and he gave about eight minutes exhortation to the congregation.
“The minister who was on the pulpit said we should be consistent with God, because we are in the end-time. He also advised us to support government programmes.”
The surviving children of the late minister have since been offered automatic jobs and scholarships by the federal government.
Salihu Isah, the special adviser, media and publicity to the attorney-general and minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) stated this in a statement on Tuesday, March 8.
Isah said that the attorney-general of the federation, revealed the government’s plan for the surviving children, of the deceased, “to cushion the effect of their father’s death” , during a condolence visit to the Ocholi family in Kado Estate, Abuja.
Ocholi, his wife, Blessing and their son, Joshua, are due for burial next week as announced by their family members on Tuesday .
