The Adaka Boro Avengers has issued warning to Niger Delta elders o stop collecting stipends from the presidency and called for unity among militant groups.

The Sun reports that the militant group in a statement issued by General Edmos Doukumor also applauded the Niger Delta Avengers and said it was aware of its statement to renew hostilities.
The group said: “We want to use this medium to call on those leaders who are using the Niger Delta struggle to collect stipends from the Presidency to desist from it. We are also aware of the recent statement from the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA). We respect you, our brothers in the NDA, in the struggle and we aware that we are all fighting for the freedom of the region.
“We plead with you guys to stay calm while our representatives are having talks with the Presidency.”
“We want to use this medium to thank the Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu for his efforts in curbing the hostilities in the region. We are aware of your developmental plans for the region. We also use this opportunity to thank Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), especially Chief Edwin Clark, leader of the group; we are seeing your efforts in bringing lasting solution to the Niger Delta region.
Meanwhile, PANDEF pleaded with Niger Delta Avengers and other militants in the south-south region not to renew oil pipeline bombings as earlier threatened.
The statement read: “Pan Niger Delta Forum wishes to appeal to all agitators and stakeholders in the region to exercise restraint and remain calm so as to sustain the relative peace enjoyed in the region as it will enable PANDEF deepen its engagement process with the Federal Government. Peace remains the primary factor that can usher in sustainable development.
“However, in the face of all these provocations, there is imperative need for us to‎ continue to embrace peace and sustain the ceasefire deal. PANDEF will continue to engage the Federal Government to respond to the urgent need to initiate dialogue process without delay.
“In the light of Mr. President’s New Year message which he endorsed the primacy of dialogue as a sine qua non for the resolution of the issues in the Niger Delta, the Forum appeals to all aggrieved groups to remain calm and hopeful.”
