The record for the most consecutive stairs climbed while balancing a person on the head, has been smashed by two unfathomably-strong Vietnamese brothers.
Guinness World Record reports that the feat was achieved in Girona, Spain.
Circus duo Giang Quoc Nghiep and Giang Quoc Co conquered the 90 stairs of Saint Mary’s Cathedral while balancing head-to-head.
In an extraordinary display of core strength and stability, one man walks up the steps while the other holds himself upside-down on top of his head.
You might recognise the picturesque setting from popular fantasy epic Game of Thrones, as these stairs are used for the exterior of the Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing.
It takes the siblings just 52 seconds to climb to the top and they make the impressive challenge look almost effortless.
The professional performers more than tripled the previous record of 25 stairs that was set by Tang Tao and Su Zengxian (China) on the set of CCTV-Guinness World Records Special back in 2014.
Mayor of Girona Marta Madrenas attended the event and congratulated the Giang brothers following their successful Guinness World Records attempt.
Speaking to Guinness World Records, Giang Quoc Nghiep said: “We have been rehearsing this skill for 15 years,” explaining that the duo have experienced plenty of accidents and injuries during their grueling training regime.
“I have sometimes thought that I could not continue any longer, but we continue to go forward and overcome fear and danger,” he added.
“I want to prove to everyone in the world that human possibilities are endless.”
