The Governor said his decision was based on the negligence of the Police High Command, whom he accused of deliberately ignoring the alarm raised by the state government.
Governor Wike also challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to release result of Rivers South-East to ascertain the winner of the election.
Meanwhile, Wike has described the alleged audio tape where he threatened an electoral official during the legislative rerun election as crap.
The governor who described the audio recordings as the handiwork of his detractors stated this while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Saturday, December 17.
“Have I not said it before that if you come to Rivers to rig you should prepare your will? Have I not said it? So what is it about threatening to kill electoral officials?” he said.
He equally added that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will challenge the victory of Senator Magnus Abe at the court.
