Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou aka George Michael was a popular British singer and performer who recently passed on Christmas Day, December 25, 2016.
The singer was born on June 25th 1963 and died at 53 years old. He started his singing career as the second half of an 1980s pop group called Wham
He then pursued a solo career later in the 1980s and some of his famous hits include Last Christmas, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Faith and Careless Whisper.
By the 1990s, George came out as being gay and dated Anselmo Feleppa (who later died) and Kenny Goss for 13 years (1996 to 2009).
George's publicist announced the news saying: "It is with great sadness that wan confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period."
"The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage."
BBC reported that he passed away in his home in Goring in Oxfordshire in the UK. Michael was going to release a documentary in 2017 as well as an album with producer Naughty Boy.
