The event, which takes place at the International
Conference Center, is expected to be personally opened
by President Muhammadu Buhari.

36 ministerial nominees were recently screened and
confirmed by the Senate and will probably be
inaugurated after the retreat.

President Buhari is likely to appoint duties to the
ministers and give portfolios to them this week.
Femi Adesina, the presidential media aide, once said
the president would
communicate when to swear-in his cabinet.

Already the incoming ministers arrived in Abuja last
night.
The event is set to begin at 9:am.

The last part of the confirmed ministerial names was
taken to Buhari at the Aso Rock villa in Abuja by the
president of the senate Bukola Saraki on
Tuesday which made the retreat possible.
However, Nigerians on different social media
criticized their president over complaining but not
working.

Buhari recently said that Nigeria at the moment can’t
afford to pay 36 ministers in India last week.
But later the president ruled out the possibility of
assigning portfolios to all the confirmed ministerial
nominees by the senate.

On his own part, Saraki stated that the idea of having
ministers without portfolio was not entirely new in the
political system of the country.
