Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has disclosed that the real reason former manager, Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club’s management was because he trusted his players too much.
Fabregas, who was a guest on Sky Sports on Monday night said contrary to well publicized reports claiming that Mourinho was hard on players and therefore lost the dressing room, the opposite was actually the case.
“A lot has been said. I love Jose and I consider him my friend and we still keep in touch right now.
“Some of the things said were unfortunate, but I have huge respect for him.
“I think Jose’s biggest problem was that he trusted us too much. He gave us more holiday because we were champions. He had been trusting us and we let him down.
“The whole team has, all of the players, and that was the main reason why he had to go.
“For that, myself and the rest of the team, we feel bad for that,” said Fabregas on Monday Night Football.
But that wasn’t the only thing the Chelsea midfielder revealed – he’s hoping Tottenham don’t win the Premier League title.
The former Arsenal star said: “I think Spurs are pushing as hard as they can to get as close to them as possible.
“But I think Leicester will win it and deservedly so.”
But when asked whether he thought there would be another twist in the title race Fabregas said: “I hope not, I don’t want Spurs to win it.”
Apparently the former Arsenal captain is still a gunner at heart.
