This happened yesterday 19th April 2015 at about 12pm. According to reports gathered from the passengers, they were traveling to Lagos from Asaba.
It was a smooth trip until when they got close to “Bypass” in Benin, the Captain (driver) started waving the steering randomly from left to right.
At first, they thought he was trying to navigate the potholes on the road but it was pretty obvious that road at that point was good and there was no need for that.
Suddenly the Captain began to wave to the right almost out of the road, the man at the front noticed that the driver was sleeping, so he quickly reached out his hand for the steering trying to wave back into the road.
He was not very successful because his seat belt held him back but he managed to wave it a little.
The bus hit the bump by the right and fell. lots of the passengers were injured but none died.
When the Captain was confronted, he apologized and told them that he worked the previous night.
He drove from Lagos to Asaba and was forced to take another trip without any good sleep.
Transportation companies need to value the life of customers.
Thank God no life was lost. Quick recovery to all that were injured.
