President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered mass
retirement of permanent secretaries.
Buhari met with the permanent secretaries today, At
the meeting was Chief of Staff to the President Abba
Kyari and the Head of Civil Service of the
Federation. It was gathered that no fewer than 17 of
the permanent secretaries were affected.
The ouster of the officials is coming ahead of
Wednesday’s expected swearing-in of new ministers.
Ministers and permanent secretaries usually clash over
policies and running of their respective ministries,
department and agencies.
